This is the first year that I've actually worked on Christmas Eve...and I worked a full day. I had to rush after work to catch the bus so I could go north to see Ben. Then it was time to wrap presents. Ben is a much better present wrapper than I am, but I did my best. Because we weren't able to be together until around 9pm, the only church service we could attend was the midnight Catholic Mass. It was longer than we thought it would be, we didn't get home until a little after 1am on Christmas day and the service started at 1130pm. It was nice though, and even though we aren't Catholic, it was pretty close to the Lutheran services we are used to. It just isn't Christmas Eve without going to church and celebrating Jesus' birth. It's sad that we can't be with family, but at least we have each other. I am very thankful and blessed to have Ben. We are making our first Christmas meal including a crock pot turkey breast, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole. Yum. I hope it turns out well. I hope you had an awesome Christmas Eve and that you have a wonderful Christmas.
