Hot springs and a very large church
I am finally feeling better, which leads me to what Ben and I did before I got sick last weekend. On Saturday we traveled to Asan, a city east of Seoul. It has many hot spring "resorts" where you can go and bath in water from natural hot springs. We went to Spavis. It was a little confusing when we first got there. It's amazing what you can learn just by watching others. There was a little English, but not much. We first went to the outside pool. Yes, while it was in the 30s outside, we went into an outside pool, but it was heated. There were several smaller hot tubs around the pool that were colored and much warmed than the pool surrounding them. They had private hot spring pools too, but we didn't reserve one early enough so we had to skip that. You could have one with rose or lavender. Different things. Inside was another heated pool where you could do stretches, but you had to wear a swim cap, so if you go to one of these places, make sure you bring one. Also in the same room, for an extra 5,000 won (about $5) you could get a "Dr fish" treatment. There were 4 small pools with schools of fish in them. You would sit in them and fish would come up and do something to your exposed skin. It was such a strange feeling. It didn't hurt, but kind of felt like vibrations against your skin. It was my favorite part of the day. After that we decided to go and do what Ben tells me is something you can't leave Korea without doing. Going into the spa area where everyone is naked. Yep, we did it. There are separate areas for men and women, so at least there was that. There were different pools with different temperatures and colors. There are a lot of things I could say about that experience, and I think I'll just leave it that it was just that, an experience. On Sunday we went with a church group to Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul,
