Korean Folk Village and Suwon Fortress

Today we went to Suwon, near where Ben lives, to visit a traditional Korean folk village and another fortress. Ben had already been to the folk village, but I had wanted to go for the longest time. It's like Colonial Williamsburg for the Koreans. :) We saw several traditional houses and watched traditional entertainment including the farmer dance, seesaw, and tight rope. We then saw a wedding, which usually is performed by actors, but we were lucky enough to see a real one. These kids were getting their picture taken and were entertainingBen thought the groom was just doing it because the bride wanted to and I told him he would have done it for me if I had wanted it too. :) I of course had to get a picture of a donkey because they are so cute. and who could pass up torturing their fatherI could have probably spent all day there looking at everything, but we had to move on. We ate some bibimbap (see it cooking on the stove) which was really good. I was so hungry that I ate it really quickly. I love it when it comes in the stone pot and the rice is burnt a little on the bottom. Yum. When it's that way, it is my favorite Korean meal. We then went to the Suwon fortress (remember fortresses are my newest passion) and walked around the wall. Ben and I took his parents to dinner and had some kalbi (Korean rib meat) and bulgogi. Good as always.
