Purdue defeats Ohio State
Ben and I met my parents in West Lafayette, Indiana to cheer for the Boilermakers. Coming into the game, Purdue was 1-5 and Ohio State was ranked 6 or 7 in the nation, so to say the least, Purdue wasn't expected to win the game. We all had breakfast together and then went to buy our Gold t-shirts to help support the Boilers and the United Way. Too bad it was a little cold and we had to wear jackets over our gold shirts, but none the less, we wore them. Here is the baby supporting Purdue.
We then picked up our tickets and headed to Slayter Center to watch the band's pre-game concert there.
After the concert we got pictures take with the Boilermaker Special
and Big Drum
and then headed into the stadium. First up, pre-game with a KC-135 flyover. Then the game started and we braced ourselves. Purdue was first up to score (so I took a picture of the scoreboard).
By the end of the first half, Purdue was leading 9-7 (so I had to take another picture).
I was scared about the 2nd half because I thought Ohio State would come out with a vengeance, but by the end of the game, Purdue was still on top.
Wow, it was a great game. We then went to the Fountain concert to watch and listen to the band.
I'm glad we were there and glad my parents came up for the game. Not to mention all of the Ohio State alums I work with. I was nice on Monday. We then had dinner and celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday.
