Korean food so far
I have almost been in Korea 2 weeks now. Since I live with a bunch of Americans, buying and eating food is pretty similar to what I had in the states. Less choices, but pretty much the same. There is a Korean restaurant on base that is pretty good. I've had the bulgogi and bibimbap there. Bulgogi is meat marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, sugar, green onions and black pepper with veggies over rice. Bibimbap is veggies, meat, rice, and an egg on top that you mix altogether with red chili paste. I like both. Today, I went to a place in Kunsan City and had some chicken bulgogi, cucumber kimchi and some type of dumpling. It was all really good. The cucumber kimchi was not what I had thought it would be. It isn't the cabbage kimchi you hear about. It was fresh cucumber with sesame seeds, chili bean paste and something else. Yum.

Just be very careful to ensure the food is cooked...so much is eaten raw there and that might be a bit more of a surprise than you're willing to accept.
Love ya,
dad
