Guam
A couple weeks ago I was lucky enough to get a business trip to Guam for 5 days. It was about 40 degrees warmer in Guam than in Korea, and certainly more tropical (not that Korea is really tropical, well Jeju island might be somewhat tropical).
It felt like summer, even though it was only March. It was nice to be able to wear shorts again and to live on the beach for a little bit, but I was happy to get home. Guam was a strange place. I mostly saw Japanese tourists walking around. Guam is only a 3 hour flight from Tokyo, so it is pretty popular. All the restaurants I ate at had some sort of Japanese fusion, which was kind of neat. It was just kind of strange. It felt more like Asia than a U.S. Territory. On the last day I got the bright idea to run to Two Lover's point, where two lover's had once jumped off a cliff because it was the only way to be together. It was about 3 miles from my hotel.
so I figured it would be an easy 60 minute run. When I first got outside it started to rain. I thought (hoped) it would pass so I kept running. Unfortunately it didn't and I was soaked. Some parts of my run the rain was coming down so hard I could barely see. When I got to Two Lover's point it wasn't even open yet. Luckily I asked the guard if I could just go take a look and he was nice enough to let me. Here are the pictures.
