Odaesan National Park
Our second day was at Odaesan. We had planned at starting at Sangwonsa temple so we could hike the highest peak in the park, but because of a special event, we instead started at Woljeongsa, 10km away from Sangwonsa. We figured we should take a look at Woljeongsa temple which was totally destroyed during the Korean War, not that you could tell when looking at it.

There was some event going on there that day and we decided we would take part even though we had no idea. We first filled out sheets of paper with our names and our wishes and put them in a box. We got free towels and posed with a bear and an owl.
We then hiked 5 km to the end of the trail (which had been marked and we were sort of forced to follow)
where we got rice balls (rice mixed with mountain veggies)
and watched a couple of bands play.
We then walked 5 km to Sangwonsa
and started to climb toward Birobong. I wasn't feeling all that well, so we didn't go but 1 or 2 km before we turned around. On the way up though we saw a temple built into the side of the mountain.
We then walked back to Woljeongsa and had the hotel BBQ pork.
